In this workshop, students will be guided in creating a mixed media piece that centers a "special object". This could be something sentimental (fabric from a family heirloom) or a piece of nature that feels inspiring (sturdy dried flowers, animal bones). We will be sewing , embroidering, or glueing those special objects onto the fabric, and creating a design that highlights and mirrors it's colors and qualities. Bring your feelings and intuition. Beginner to Intermediate.

In this workshop, you will learn 4 basic embroidery stitches and one basic beading application technique. You will have the opportunity to explore and play with your sense of creativity using these skills.

Participants will leave with the beginning of an abstract embroidery project in an embroidery hoop.
